Every child is unique.
Special needs children are no different. Services are planned to meet the
individual needs of the child, rather than to fit the child into existing
service. Services consider the child’s family and community context, are
developmentally appropriate and child-specific, and also build on the
strengths of the child and family to meet the mental health, social,
developmental and physical needs of the child. Services at TCLC Mississippi
Behavior Clinic recognize that the family is the primary support system of
the child. TCLC Mississippi Behavior Clinic’s Program is designed to
provide children with emotional and behavioral needs with intensive
treatment, advocacy, service coordination and support in their home and
community. Treatment services are delivered to the family, child, and other
critical individuals in the child’s life by members of the Program staff,
which will include all or some of the following individuals: Behavior
Specialist Consultant (BSC), Senior Support Specialist (SSS), and Community
Support Specialist (Community Support Specialist). Community Support
Specialist professionals are responsible for implementing behavioral
treatment plans developed by the Behavior Specialist Consultant and the
Senior Support Specialist. The Clinic Director provides individual and group
clinical supervision to program staff, including Community Support
Specialist, Senior Support Specialists and Behavioral Specialist.

TCLC Mississippi
Behavior Clinic practices an intensive supervision model. Our Intensive
Program provides highly individualized programming for students beyond the
treatment capabilities of other placements. We specialize in treatment and
educational services for students with autism, behavior disorders, and
severely challenging behaviors such as intense aggression, property
destruction, and noncompliance.
Individuals may receive
intensive behavioral instruction with systematically planned opportunities
for integration with typical peers. The curriculum emphasizes basic
learning, communication, social, self-help, and academic skills, with
specific generalization training.
Our curriculum is
designed to meet each student's particular needs in multiple areas. Students
participate in a full school day and a full school year. Our goal is to
prepare students for the transition to public schools.
